Mountain Spa
Vermont
BRD collaborated with Kane Architecture to produce the contract documents for this new hotel and spa. The Mountain Spa combines the idyllic Vermont
landscape with a Turkish bath experience. The project features an 80 room hotel, a 165-seat restaurant offering authentic cuisine and an art gallery. Using stone imported from Turkey, two hammams are designed and detailed to replicate centuries old steam baths and offer traditional spa practices. The spa also includes nine massage & treatment rooms, locker rooms, yoga space, exercise room, and salon. The interior design emphasizes simplicity of materials and functionality. As part of the owner’s commitment to creating a sustainable lifestyle and experience, the exterior of the building makes use of locally sourced materials. Reclaimed and locally sourced wood siding, as well as marble stone veneer, help the building become part of the landscape and existing setting, as well as recall masonry construction. The project will be LEED certified and will not rely on fossil-fuel systems.
